Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive procedure which removes peach fuzz, dead skin, and dirt from the surface of your skin using a thin surgical blade with no pain or downtime. It leaves your skin looking luminous, smoother, and brighter while also assisting skincare products in penetrating deeper for better absorption. Additionally, it aids in minimising the visibility of fine wrinkles and acne scars.

Dermaplaning can be an effective exfoliation method for clients that have couperose (tiny blood vessels near the surface of the skin), sensitive skin or allergies that prevent the use of microdermabrasion or chemical peels.

Due to the contours of the face, certain areas of the face (such as the eyelids and nose) are not treatable using this method.

Who is eligible for dermaplaning?
This treatment is suitable for all skin types including pregnant & breastfeeding woman. However, this treatment is not recommended for clients with open acne.

Is there any downtime to this treatment?
Yes, you may experience excessive dryness or even some peeling between sessions, which may or may not be normal. Always contact me If you have any concerns.

More sensitive skin may experience some redness after the first couple of sessions. This normally goes away after 2 to 3 hours. Dermaplaning may cause minor superficial abrasions which may not appear until a day or two following your treatment. If this should occur, please contact me so that I can do a post-treatment follow up with you.

After your treatment, SPF 30+ MUST be worn at all times. Tanning beds should never be used. You are making an investment in your skin: therefore, it is to your benefit to continue to protect it long after your series of treatments is completed.

FAQ's

In Australia, there are no regulations governing the use of eyelash extensions or the minimum age requirement. Still, we abide by the guidelines set forth by our public liability insurance provider. We strongly prohibit applying eyelash extensions to anyone younger than 16 years old at RM Skin & Beauty. For clients between the age of 16 to 18, we require parent consent & signature at the consultation.

  • Do not wash your lashes or get them wet 12-24hours post service application
  • Brush daily
  • Clean your lashes 1-2 times daily with our Lash Bath solution
  • Do not scratch, pick or pull at your lashes
  • Do not brush your lashes wet
  • Use oil free and alcohol free products around your eye area
  • No Mascara

Eyelash extensions are a cosmetic enhancement where a semi permanent synthetic lash is applied to each individual natural lash with a bonding adhesive. They are available in various lengths, thicknesses, and curvatures to give the natural eyelashes a fuller, more dramatic look.

It is recommended to have your lashes infilled every 2-3 weeks to maintain a full look.

With correct homecare, your lashes can last up to 4-6 weeks. Our natural lash cycle is 60-90 days, and each lash will naturally fall out at different stages, so whilst some lashes will remain for 4-6 weeks, not all of them will. To maintain a full look you will need to have them infilled every 2-3 weeks.

We do not recommend you use mascara as waterproof or oil based products will dissolve the extensions bonding adhesive.
